King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), which was founded in 2009, is a graduate research institution committed to finding answers to some of the most urgent scientific and technological problems facing both the world and Saudi Arabia, particularly those relating to food and health, water, energy, the environment, and the digital space. Students from Saudi Arabia and other countries who want to pursue graduate degrees are encouraged to apply by KAUST. Merit-based admissions are used at KAUST. More than 60 different countries now have students studying at the university, while more than 220 different universities throughout the world have submitted applications.

Financial Assistance from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology Scholarship​

​The KAUST Fellowship, which provides financial aid to students for the duration of their graduate studies, is available to all students who got admission from university. The KAUST Fellowship offers the following advantages:
  • full funding for Tuition 
  • A monthly stipend for living expenses (between $20,000 and $30,000 annually, depending on qualifications and degree programme progression)

Postgraduate Diploma​

 The Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), specifically designed for Saudi nationals, aims to make a revolutionary impact on Saudi talent market. This curriculum will prepare graduates to flourish in the job market or to excel in the following phases of graduate study at KAUST or abroad by equipping and developing well-rounded professionals with critical-thinking abilities.

Those who wish to apply for admission to the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) programme must meet the following entry requirements:

a Bachelor's degree in science or engineering from a college or university that KAUST recognises.

language of English Requirements: IELTS 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 79 are the minimum requirements for all applicants.

Candidates for admission are required to participate in an academic and a personal interview, which will evaluate their readiness for the programme and their knowledge of the prerequisites.

Master of Science Degree​

Admissions

Admission to the Master of Science (M.S.) programme requires satisfactory completion of an undergraduate science degree in a relevant or related field, such as engineering, mathematics, or the physical, chemical, and biological sciences. Additionally, applicants must successfully pass an academic examination and an individual interview to determine whether they meet the program's other prerequisites and other requirements.

Ph.D. Program ​

​ Admissions

The successful completion of an undergraduate or master's degree in science in a relevant or related field, such as engineering, mathematics, or the physical, chemical, or biological sciences, is a requirement for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme.

For PhD students, there are three phases and related benchmarks:
passing a test to qualify
passing the dissertation proposal's oral defence
Dissertation phase with a completion goal for the defence

Application Requirements of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology Scholarship​


KAUST demands a minimum TOEFL IBT (Internet Based Test) score of 79 or an IELTS score of 6.5. (International English Language Testing System). The admissions code for KAUST is 4107. The only scores allowed are the official TOEFL or IELTS results. For purposes of admission to a specific institution of higher learning, test results from the TOEFL or IELTS are not admissible.

If the candidate holds a degree from an approved university in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand, a TOEFL or IELTS score is not necessary.

The GRE is not necessary for admission to KAUST. The GRE general test is something that we strongly advise students to take, though. A student's application will be strengthened if they receive a good GRE quantitative score.ETS should send direct test results if possible. The admissions code for KAUST is 4139.

Send in official, comprehensive copies of your university transcripts, grade reports, diplomas, and academic records from each previous institution you attended. Along with the approved English translation, the official transcript given by the university must be scanned and sent to the online application. The university's grading system must be listed on your transcript for all submitted materials. In the event that admission is granted, a sealed envelope containing an official final transcript must be sent to the  following address in advance of the student's arrival (during the onboarding process).

Three recommendation letters must be filed on your behalf. It is crucial that professors or advisors who have guided your research or taught you courses in your major field of study write your letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation should be sent directly from the recommender through the application. Recommenders should describe their familiarity with your work, provide comparisons (e.g., best in the past five years, top 1% of class), and offer insight into your capacity for research.
