DUT 2024 Application Processes
High Level Postgraduate Program with Chinese Government Scholarship (TYPE B)A fully funded scholarship programme called the Chinese Government Scholarship-High Level Postgraduate Program was designed by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China to assist selected Chinese universities in accepting deserving international students for graduate study in China.
Ⅰ. Introduction
Categories and Quotas
1. In 2024, Dalian University of Technology (DUT) will provide doctoral or master's degree students the Chinese Government Scholarship - High Level Postgraduate Program.
Only graduate programmes are supported by this award. For master's degrees, the scholarship is valid for three years; for doctorate programmes, it is valid for four years.
2. Although some of DUT's programmes are taught in English, the majority of its programmes are taught in Chinese. Refer to the files for more information on the various initiatives.
3. The scholarship period, which covers major study, as stated in the Admission Notice cannot generally be extended.
4. In general, students are not allowed to submit applications to change their specialisations, institutions, or the timeframe of their studies, as stated in the Admission Notice.
• Requirements
1. Applicants must be healthy non-Chinese nationals.
2. Age limitation and educational background:
- Candidates for master's degree programmes are required to hold a bachelor's degree and to be under 35 years old.
- Candidates for doctoral programmes are required to hold a master's degree and to be under 40 years old.
3. Language necessary:
The final instructor and department may assess your language proficiency for Ph.D. and Master's applicants based on the oral interview or written exam.
The Chinese-taught curriculum requires a recent HSK certificate:
3.1 Majors in science, technology, management, and economics must have an HSK score of at least 4180;
3.2 For majors linked to the humanities, social sciences, and philosophy, HSK 5 180 or above is required.
The English-taught curriculum requires English proficiency:
3.3 Submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report; the IELTS score must be 5.5 or higher and the TOEFL score must be 80 or higher, respectively;
3.4 Applicants with English as their primary language of instruction must instead present a language certificate from their most recent educational setting.
3.5 English language competency documentation is not required for applicants from nations where English is the official language.
Information on the Scholarship
1. Free accommodation on campus and exemption from tuition fee;
2. The following monthly allowances are available:
* Monthly payment of 3,000 CNY for master's students
* Monthly fee for doctoral students is 3,500 CNY.
3. Complete Health Insurance.
4. Applicants are expected to cover their own costs associated with overseas travel.
II. Application Methodologies and Timing
From November 1, 2023, until February 20, 2024, applicants must email their application documents and forms to DUT's School of International Education at dutsice@dlut.edu.cn.
The following information must be filled out completely and accurately by the applicants, and you must provide the soft documents in a zip file to our email address in order to avoid having your application rejected:
Before the deadline, send your application materials to dutsice@dlut.edu.cn in ZIP format.
Please include "DUT application number + passport last name + passport name" in the email subject line (for instance, "20221100001 + ABDUR + MUHAMMAD").

2. After submitting their applications online, candidates for Chinese Government Scholarships should print out their completed forms, fill them out, and sign them. Visit http://www.campuschina.org to access the CSC Online Application System for Study in China.
Observation: When completing the online application,
DUT's agency number is 10141.
Your application will be cancelled if we are unable to verify your information in the online application system.
In addition to submitting an application for a Ph.D. programme, candidates may also submit an application for a Liaoning Government Scholarship. (Please see Attachments.)
Additionally, all applicants must complete the DUT online application found on our website at http://iso.dlut.edu.cn.
Your application will be cancelled if we are unable to verify your information in the DUT online application system.
3. Highest diploma notarized (notarized photocopy). If applicants are college students or have jobs, they must also present proof of their education or employment. Documents that are not in Chinese or English must have certified translations in those two languages attached.
4. Transcripts of academic results (From the undergraduate programme onwards). Undergraduate, graduate (if applicable), and doctoral programmes (if applicable) academic records from the first to the last semester must be submitted. The academic affairs office or student management division of the graduate university shall issue and seal the transcript.Translations in Chinese or English that have been notarized must be added to transcripts written in languages other than Chinese or English.
5. An English or Chinese study plan proposal (no less than 1000 words). Please elaborate on the major or research area you wish to pursue at DUT, and get the document signed by DUT administrators. See the attached documents.
6. Two reference letters in either Chinese or English from professors or associate professors at the university from which the applicants received their degrees.
These letters must outline the applicant's educational goals for China, their whole range of skills, and their assessment of their potential for future development. See the attached documents.
7. A photocopy of the completed English-language foreigner physical examination form and blood test report (applicants should hold the original).
It is only printed by the Chinese quarantine authority for students whose stay in China is up to six months long. All of the items on the Foreigner Physical Examination Form must be examined medically. Records that aren't full or don't have the attending physician's signature, the hospital's official stamp, or a sealed photo of the applicants are invalid. Results of the medical checkup are good for six months. After October 2022, medical exams that cover every aspect of the list and include the blood test report are required.
8. A photocopy of the visa page with the photo and (Ordinary passport expires after September 2023).
9. Certificates of language proficiency. Refer to the qualification's language requirement.
10. Certificate of No Conviction for a Crime.
11. Those who have already arrived in China must send a scan of their visa photocopy.
12. A single image (3 x 4 cm).
III. Admission Notification and Start Date
The applicants will receive the admission notice at the end of July 2024, and enrollment will begin in September 2024.
