Dr. Goh Keng Swee Scholarship Introduction
The Association of Banks in Singapore administers the Dr Goh Keng Swee (GKS) Scholarship, which is a private sector scholarship (ABS). It was established by Singapore's financial community to honour former Deputy Prime Minister Dr Goh Keng Swee, who aided Singapore's economic development and growth as a reputable international financial centre.
Each year, three to four scholarships are awarded to outstanding individuals from 15 Asia Pacific economies (Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam) to pursue undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). After completing their studies, candidates will be required to serve a three-year bond.
Eligibility for Dr. Goh Keng Swee Scholarship 2023
Students from Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam are eligible for the Dr Goh Keng Swee study Singapore fully funded Scholarship. Singapore citizens and permanent residents are ineligible to apply for the Dr GKS Scholarship 2023.
Dr Goh Keng Swee study Singapore fully funded Scholarship 2023 Applicants must:
- Ensure that all university admission requirements are met (including taking any required university entrance exams);
- Apply for admission to Singapore's Institutes of Higher Learning - National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), or Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) - at the same time, and follow the university's admission deadlines and guidelines.
- Have strong leadership qualities, as well as good academic and co-curricular activity (CCA) accomplishments; and
- Have taken or made plans to take the SAT

The scholarship covers up to four years of undergraduate study (may include Honours). It includes the following features:
- Tuition and other mandatory fees;
- Airfare (to Singapore and return to home country upon completion of study);
- SGD6500 annual maintenance allowance;
- Hostel allowance based on institution of study; and
- SGD200 settling-in allowance (one-time expense) upon arrival in Singapore.
The scholarship award is subject to annual review and is contingent on satisfactory performance and academic results.
Bond for Scholarship Dr Goh Keng Swee study Singapore fully funded Scholarship 2023
- After completing their studies, successful candidates will be required to work for three years in either:
- An approved Singapore-based company; or an approved Singapore-based company in their home country
- An approved Singapore-based company; or an approved Singapore-based company in their home country
- The Dr GKS Scholarship Fund will decide how scholarship holders will be deployed to serve their bonds. Scholarship recipients are not permitted to postpone their bond for postgraduate studies or other reasons.
