About  OCBC Regional Scholarship Fully funded Scholarship:

Since the early groundbreaking work of mathematical physicist Giorgio Parisi (Nobel Prize laureate in Physics in 2021) and the groundbreaking work of 2014 Fields Medalist Sir Martin Hairer, stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) have become a very active research area with many cutting-edge and challenging research topics, as well as with a variety of applications to problems in the real world. With a focus on stochastic heat equations, stochastic conservation laws, and stochastic Burgers/KPZ equations, this project will examine the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of stochastic partial differential equations driven by Brownian motion and/or fractional Brownian motion, alpha-stable processes, and point processes (Poisson and beyond). The methodology uses probabilistic, analytical, and computational techniques. A student who has a strong background in probability theory, functional analysis, or numerical analysis and has some familiarity with partial differential equations is a good fit for the project. Before beginning work on this project, the student would receive training in methods from a variety of academic fields, including stochastic processes and random fields, stochastic calculus, computational and statistical methods with simulations, and a few topics in partial differential equations. The concerned stochastic equations' well-posedness and the corresponding numerical schemes would then be developed (if interested). Additionally, they would try to create new equations that connected to sophisticated modeling in practical fields or industrial mathematics.

Eligibility Requirements for Fully Funded Mathematics EPSRC PhD Scholarship: in UN 2023:

Since Candidates typically need to have a master's degree or an undergraduate degree with a 2.1 overall GPA (or Non-UK equivalent as defined by Swansea University). Applicants from Europe and other countries should refer to the "country specific information" section, which is at the bottom of the page.

IELTS 6.0 Overall (with no individual component below 5.5) or a Swansea recognized equivalent are the English language requirements. You can read more about Swansea University's English language admissions requirements here.

Due to funding limitations, only applicants who meet UKCISA regulations and are able to pay tuition fees at the UK rate are eligible for this scholarship.

Please refer to Swansea University's degree comparisons if you hold a degree from a country other than the UK to see if you qualify.

Please send an email with the web address of the scholarship(s) you are interested in to pgrscholarships@swansea.ac.uk if you have any questions about your academic or fee eligibility in light of the aforementioned criteria.

Funding The £17,668 annual stipend and all UK tuition fees are covered by this scholarship.
