Meezan Fully funded Scholarships for Pakistani Students 2023


Cardiff University in UK  is launching 5 new Meezan Scholarships for Pakistani students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in select fields. The aim is to support disaster management and prevention in Pakistan.

Eligibility: 

To be eligible for the Meezan Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be domiciled in Pakistan (or have been displaced due to flooding) and be a Pakistani national
  • Meet all entry requirements for the eligible postgraduate taught degree by 20 August 2023
  • Be self-financed and not in receipt of non-repayable funding from other sources
  • Hold an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught degree commencing in September 2023
  • Be classified as an international fee-paying student
  • Accept the offer by 30 June 2023
  • Submit the scholarship application by 31 May 2023

Field of study: 

The Meezan Scholarship is open to students who have offers for eligible masters programmes in the following fields:

  • Welsh School of Architecture
  • Schools of Earth and Environmental Sciences
  • Engineering
  • Geography and Planning

  3. MSc Applied Environmental Geology
  4. MSc Environment and Development
  5. MSc Environmental Hazards
  6. MSc in Building and Infrastructure Information Modelling for Smart Engineering

  8. MSc in Civil and Water Engineering
  9. MSc in Civil Engineering
  10. MSc in Structural Engineering
  11. MSc Sustainability, Planning and Environmental Policy
  12. MSc Urban and Regional Development
  13. MSc Water in a Changing World

Application start and closing date: 

Applications for the Meezan Scholarship open when eligible offer holders are contacted by email with details of how to access the online application form. The closing date for the 2023 scholarships is 23:59 BST on 31 May 2023. Late applications will not be considered.

How to apply: 

Eligible offer holders will receive an email with instructions on how to access the online application form. Applicants will be required to answer the following questions with a maximum of 250 words per question:

  • What are your reasons for wanting to study at Cardiff University and on your chosen programme of study?
  • Describe a significant achievement in your student life or working career, and explain the impact it had on other people.
  • Describe how you plan to utilise the skills and experience you develop on your chosen programme to deliver onward benefits in relation to future natural disaster management and prevention in Pakistan.
  • When reviewing scholarship applications, the university will consider whether applicants meet the entry criteria before confirming an award. Applications will be assessed shortly after the submission deadline, and scholarships will be awarded to students with the highest overall scores.

Application fee: 

There is no application fee for the Meezan Scholarship.

Bond: 

There is no bond associated with the Meezan Scholarship.

Other details: 

Successful applicants will be required to engage with the International Office to produce promotional content about their experience as international students at Cardiff University. This may include written pieces/blogs and video content as well as participation in occasional webinars or other online activities.

Please note that if you are assessed as eligible to pay Home fees as a result of a fee query, your fee status will be amended to Home, and you will not be eligible for the Cardiff University Meezan Scholarship.
