About Scholarship:
The Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) and Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) have jointly established the "Xi'an Jiaotong University International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship" to help meet the rising demand for Chinese language teachers on a global scale, facilitate Chinese language education around the world, and support the professional development of Chinese language teachers.
The scholarship covers the costs of 20 seats in Chinese+ Business Administration (Big Data Management and Application) and 20 seats in Chinese+ Mechanical Engineering (Intelligent Manufacturing).
Established in 1896, Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) is a national key university that is under the direct administration of the Chinese Ministry of Education. It belongs to the C9 League, China's Ivy League, and is one of the top ten research universities in the country. The nine major categories of disciplines at XJTU are science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, humanities, law, philosophy, and the arts.
Eligibility criteria for INTERNATIONAL CHINESE LANGUAGE
TEACHERS SCHOLARSHIP :
a) You must not be a citizen of China;
b) Have a good relationship with China, have no criminal records, and adhere to university rules and Chinese law;
c) Have good physical and mental health, good academic standing, and good behaviour;
d) Have an interest in learning Chinese and employment in the field;
e) Be between the ages of 16 and 25 on September 1, 2023.
f) A high school diploma, senior secondary diploma, or advanced diploma; applicants who are still in their senior year of high school may submit a certificate indicating their anticipated graduation, but an official diploma must be presented before September 1, 2023, in order to enrol.
g) A language proficiency score of at least HSK 4 is required. Applicants with an HSKK test result will be given preference;
h) Adhere to the rules outlined in the Ministry of Education's document [2020] No.12 as well as any applicable rules set forth by our university.

Scholarship Benifits :
- The scholarship pays for
- tuition,
- housing,
- living allowance (RMB 2,500 per person per month for undergraduates), and
- comprehensive health insurance.
- Less than four years remain in the funding period.
Documents needed for Application :
a) An image of the passport photo page.
b) A scanned copy of the HSK/HSKK test score reports (within the two-year validity period).
c) A letter of recommendation from the institution's leader.
d) Either Chinese or English notarized copies of the senior high school diploma (Applicants who have not graduated can provide expected degree certificate).
e) Notarized copies of the high school transcripts, which show the courses taken and grades earned.

g) No prior convictions (submit to XJTU application system)
h) Foreigner physical examination records (submit to the XJTU application system). Download the form and fill it out in Chinese or English at https://sie.xjtu.edu.cn/en/tigejianchajilu.pdf. The applicant must strictly complete all of the tests as specified on the form. The form will be considered invalid if it is left blank or if the doctor's recommendation, signature, or hospital seal are missing. Results are valid for a period of six months.
I )Applicants under the age of 18 must provide the necessary legal documentation of legal guardians appointed in China. (You can fill in Chinese or English at https://sie.xjtu.edu.cn/en/Application_Guide/Data_Download.htm to download.)

Application Procedure :
1. Go to the Cooperative International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship page on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website (http://cis.chinese.cn);
2. Select the Chinese+ Vocational Training (Bachelor's) option at the recommending institution;
3. Decide whether you want to major in Chinese+ Business Administration (Big Data Management and Application) or Chinese+ Mechanical Engineering (Intelligent Manufacturing);
4. Choose Xi'an Jiaotong University, enter personal data, upload supporting documents, and submit. Please download the International Chinese Language Teacher's Scholarship Application Form after submitting your online application;
5. Log into the online system for Xi'an Jiaotong University's international student applications and submit your materials there as directed.
