LSHTM Fund Scholarship for Development Countries 2024-25 - (fully funded)





Introduction

The LSHTM Fund, backed by numerous alumni and supporters, is proud to offer two fully funded scholarships for the academic year 2024-25. These scholarships aim to empower exceptional candidates who, without financial aid, might be unable to pursue their studies at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Award Details

Two LSHTM Fund Scholarships are available for 2024-25, covering:

  • Tuition fees for the 2024-25 academic year (at the overseas fee rate), including mandatory field trip fees.
  • A tax-free stipend (living allowance) of GBP 19,500.00.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Nationals of, and residents in, low to middle-income countries (as defined by the World Bank).
  • Intent to return to a low to middle-income country upon completing the MSc year at LSHTM.
  • Written confirmation of the inability to pay for the proposed program of study.
  • Meet LSHTM’s minimum English language requirements.
  • Hold a first or upper second-class honours undergraduate degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard.
  • Hold an offer of admission for 2024-25 for one of LSHTM’s London-based (intensive) MSc programs.

Selection Criteria

The selection panel, in this highly competitive scholarship process, will consider applicants' experience, qualifications, and potential. Priority will be given to those who demonstrate the greatest potential to accelerate their careers and make significant contributions to public and global health in low- to middle-income countries.

How to Apply

The application process consists of two steps, both of which must be completed by the scholarship deadline of 23:59 (GMT) on Monday, 04 March 2024:

Step 1: Submit an application for a 2024-25 London-based MSc program of study. Follow the instructions under the ‘How to Apply’ tab on the relevant program of study page.

Step 2: In your application, select the LSHTM Fund Scholarship under the ‘FUNDING DETAILS’ section. Failure to do so will result in non-consideration for this funding.

Attach a Scholarships Application Form to your application (completed in Step 1). This is the only required scholarship attachment.

Important Information

  • Open to applicants for any non-distance learning intensive Masters programs offered by LSHTM (excluding joint programs).
  • Applicants are advised to complete Step 1 early to allow time for the GBP 50.00 LSHTM admissions application fee payment to be processed.
  • Ensure that both the application to study and the scholarship application are complete by the scholarship deadline.
  • Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
  • Successful applicants will be notified by 24 May 2024.
