MMEG provides grants to women pursuing studies at accredited universities in the United States, Canada, France, South Africa, and selected institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean.
US-CANADA PROGRAM
MMEG awards education grants competitively to outstanding women from developing countries. Eligible candidates must be full-time students at accredited universities in the United States and Canada for the upcoming academic term, demonstrate financial need, and show commitment to the well-being of women and children. The selection process, conducted by an all-volunteer, independent committee, culminates in grants awarded by the Board of Directors every April. Applications are accepted from September 15 to January 15, with successful grantees notified by April.
FRANCE PROGRAM
MMEG grants are competitively awarded to exceptional women from developing countries enrolled as full-time students in accredited universities in France. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a commitment to the welfare of women and children. An independent selection committee screens applications, and the Board of Directors awards the grants. The application window is from October 15 to January 15, with successful grantees notified by April.
LATIN AMERICA AND CARIBBEAN PROGRAM
MMEG awards grants competitively to outstanding women enrolled in at least two courses in the academic term following the grant award at specified Latin American and Caribbean universities. The application period is from June 1 to September 30, and successful grantees are notified in January of the following year. The selected universities include institutions in Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and other member countries.
SOUTH AFRICA PROGRAM 2024
MMEG awards grants competitively to exceptional women enrolled in the academic term following the grant award at specific universities in South Africa. Applications are accepted from May 15 to September 14 each year, with notifications sent out in January of the following year.
TRINITY WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY PROGRAM 2024
MMEG has a special partnership with Trinity Washington University in Washington DC, awarding grants to exceptional women studying at this institution. Applications are accepted from September 15 to January 15 each year, and successful grantees are notified by April.
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible, applicants must:
Identify as women and be at least 25 years old at the application deadline.
Hold nationality in a country listed on the MMEG Country Eligibility List (excluding the Trinity Washington University Program).
Be registered, not just accepted, at an accredited in-person academic institution when submitting the application.
Plan to be enrolled for at least one full academic semester after the MMEG grant award.
Intend to graduate no later than three years after the MMEG grant award.
Not be related to a World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund, or Inter-American Development Bank staff member, spouse, retiree, or MMEG Board member.

Already be enrolled as a full-time student, holding a relevant student visa in the national passport.
Plan to continue full-time studies for at least one academic semester following the MMEG grant award in April.
Intend to graduate no later than two and a half years after the MMEG grant award.
Not hold US or Canadian citizenship or permanent residency (green card).

TRINITY WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY PROGRAM
This program accepts applications from September 15 to January 15 (11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time), with notifications sent in April. For inquiries, contact trinity@mmeg.org.
In addition to the above criteria, applicants must:
Already be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student (minimum of 2 courses per semester or term) at Trinity Washington University.
Plan to continue studies for at least one academic semester following the MMEG grant award in April.
Intend to graduate no later than three years after the MMEG grant award.
Not be related to Trinity staff.
For this program, US citizens and permanent residents are also eligible. Select "Trinity program" in the first question of the application.
This program accepts applications from May 15 to September 14 (11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time) each year, with notifications in December. For inquiries, contact southafrica@mmeg.org.
In addition to the above criteria, applicants must:
Already be enrolled full-time or part-time (minimum of 2 courses per semester or term) at one of the listed universities.
Be enrolled for at least one academic semester following the MMEG grant award in December (between January and July 2024).
Intend to graduate no later than three years after the MMEG grant award.
Hold a study permit for South Africa if applying from an eligible country other than South Africa.

Accepted fields of study include any discipline offered by accredited academic institutions.
Host Institute
The scholarships are to be taken at educational institutions in the United States (US) and Canada.
