Advanced Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees or Continuing Education Courses in Belgium:

Introduction:

Are you a national of an ARES partner country seeking to enhance your skills in a development-related field? ARES scholarships present a unique opportunity for individuals with a higher education degree and professional experience to pursue a one-year advanced bachelor’s or master’s degree or a 2-to-6-month continuing education program in a higher education institution of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Belgium.

Scholarships 2024-2025: The call for applications for ARES Belgium Scholarships 2024-2025 the academic year 2024-2025 is now closed. The next application cycle will be launched in September 2024.

Available Training Courses:

Within the ARES 2022-2027 cooperation program, the international training scholarships offer three types of programs:

  1. Advanced Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees: Inter-institutional programs spanning one academic year, leading to an academic degree.

  2. Continuing Education Programs: Practical and shorter programs (2 to 6 months) delivering certificates.

  • Advanced Bachelor’s Programs.
  • Advanced Master’s Programs.
  • Continuing Education Programs.

Financial Support:

ARES awards an average of 130 Master’s and Bachelor’s scholarships and 70 Continuing Education scholarships annually to nationals of partner countries.

Amounts for a Bachelor’s or Master’s Scholarship:

  • International travel costs (receipts required).
  • Living allowance (for 12 months).
  • Exceptional costs related to visa applications.
  • Registration fees at the current rate.
  • Insurance costs (directly paid by ARES).

Amounts for a Continuing Education Scholarship:

  • International travel costs (receipts required).
  • Living allowance (for the duration of the course).
  • Indirect mission costs (lump sum).
  • Insurance costs (directly paid by ARES).

How to Apply:

Applications are free and should be submitted online via the GIRAF platform. The application period for the academic year 2024-2025 is closed. Successful candidates will be notified by email in June 2024.

Admissibility Criteria:

To be eligible, applicants must meet specific criteria related to nationality, residence, work, academic degrees, professional experience, language proficiency, and other requirements. Compliance with admissibility criteria does not guarantee selection.

Ensure your application is valid by submitting the required documents, including letters of recommendation, certified copies of diplomas, transcripts, proof of occupation, certificate of nationality, and, if applicable, a pre-project.
