The University of Sussex is proud to announce the Climate Leaders Scholarship, offering five £3,000 scholarships to new students starting their courses in September 2024. Eligibility

Who is Eligible

To qualify for the Climate Leaders Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be classified as a 'Home' student for fees and have accepted a place on an eligible Undergraduate, Masters, or PhD course at the University of Sussex, commencing in September 2024.
  • Demonstrate a personal track record of being an environmental influencer and bringing about real-world change in relation to the climate crisis.
  • Commit to collaborating with the University and the local community to encourage pledges to achieve net zero and tackle the climate crisis.

Excluded Courses

Applicants are not eligible for this scholarship if they are current students at Sussex or will be studying any of the following courses in 2024:

  • Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE)
  • Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)
  • Courses at IDS
  • Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status)
  • Degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
  • Online courses
  • Schools direct teaching courses
  • Masters funded by research councils (e.g., ESRC 1+3 funding)

All eligible Undergraduate, Masters, or PhD courses offered at the University of Sussex, excluding the courses mentioned in the "Excluded Courses" section.
