Singapore LIM KIM SAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS 2024
Introduction
Since 2006, the SPH Foundation has been committed to nurturing academic excellence and shaping the future of students through the Lim Kim San Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is designed for students pursuing full-time languages, linguistics, and humanities programmes at local universities. Applications for the 2024 intake are now open and will close on 30th April 2024.
Eligibility
- Open to Singapore citizens.
- Monthly household income should be S$5,000 or less.
- Good results in the annual examinations at the local universities or
- Good GCE 'O' and 'A' level / polytechnic results.
- Consistently good co-curricular activities records.
- Successful scholarship recipients are expected to serve the society through volunteerism or community work during and after their studies.
- No scholarship will be awarded unless the Selection Committee is satisfied that there are candidates of sufficient merit.

The scholarship is for full-time languages, linguistics, and humanities degree courses at a local university. Other courses can be added from time to time at the discretion of the SPH Foundation Board.

Scholarship Benefits
- Full course fees including tuition and examinations.
- Living allowance of S$2,000 per annum.
- Book allowance of S$300 per annum.
- Scholarship tenable for the minimum period required by the scholar to complete the course of study for a first degree, including, if applicable, the honours degree, but not exceeding a maximum of four years.
- No bond is required.
- Internship opportunities at SPH Media are available for successful scholarship recipients upon request, and if there are suitable vacancies.

Rules and Conditions

- The scholar shall not change the course of study or take up any additional course of study without the prior written permission of the Foundation.
- The Foundation reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the scholarship at any time if, in its opinion, the scholar's conduct/performance has not been satisfactory.
- All compulsory fees shall be paid directly to the university.
