The MENDAKI - The Saleh and Gato Motiwalla Scholarship was introduced in January 2022 with the aim to recognize and reward outstanding Malay/Muslim students enrolled in local Polytechnics in Singapore. This scholarship serves as an encouragement for students to excel in their academic pursuits.


Eligibility

  • Nationality: Muslim Singapore Citizen holding a valid NRIC or Permanent Resident (PR) of Singapore.

  • Educational Background:

    • Pursuing a full-time Polytechnic programme offered by any local Polytechnics in Singapore.
    • Achieved outstanding results in Singapore Cambridge GCE ‘O’ level examinations with five (5) distinctions or equivalent.
    • Scored a GPA of 3.5 in the latest polytechnic examination.
  • Other Criteria:

    • Not in receipt of any other scholarships.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Academic Pursuit: $2,500
  • Number of Recipients: 2

The scholarship will cover educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses, and fees for other educational activities organized by the institution the recipient is enrolled in.


Application Start and Closing Date

  • Application Period: 26 February to 12 April 2024
  • Shortlisted candidates may be called for interviews, and only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

  2. Create an account if you are a first-time applicant.
  3. Complete and submit the form online.

Mandatory Documents Required:

  1. Front and Back Copy of NRIC
  2. Recent Academic Results
  3. Letter of Acceptance from Institution (if any)
  4. Family Members’ Particulars Form
  5. Income Declaration Form for self-employed and unemployed family members
  6. Parents’ or Guardian’s Latest Payslip / Letter from Employer Confirming Latest CPF statement
  7. Short write-up on personal goals (Minimum 150 words, upload in MS Word format)
  8. Other supporting Documents (if any)
  • Incomplete applications and documents will not be processed.
  • Submit ONE bursary application only.
  • Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will be rejected.

  • Recipient(s) shall be eligible to re-apply under the Scholarship in the subsequent year subject to the fulfilment of the criteria.
