Cate Haste, an alumna of the University of Sussex (’66), was a distinguished television producer and writer. She produced many historical documentaries such as "End of Empire" and "The Churchills," and authored several books including "Keep the Home Fires Burning: Propaganda in WW1," "Nazi Women," "Clarissa Eden: A Memoir – From Churchill to Eden," "The Goldfish Bowl: Married to the Prime Minister" (with Cherie Booth), and "Rules of Desire: Sex in Britain WW1 to the Present." Her book "Passionate Spirit: the Life of Alma Mahler" was published in 2019 and explores the life of Alma Mahler, a composer, author, socialite, and extraordinary intellect.
