The University of Sussex is delighted to offer the Chancellor's Masters Scholarships for 2024 entry. These scholarships are aimed at First Class graduates from institutions in the UK or Ireland. With only 100 scholarships available, the application process is highly competitive.
Eligibility
Who is Eligible
Must have studied a Bachelors (Hons) at a UK or Irish university and hold, or expect to achieve, a First Class.
Have accepted an offer of a place on an eligible full-time or part-time Masters course to start in September 2024.
Who Isn’t Eligible
Applicants applying for a Masters at a university that is not at the University of Sussex.
Progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex.
2024 Sussex graduates.
Studied at a UK University’s overseas campus or external programme.
Studying one of the Excluded courses listed below:
Excluded Courses
Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE)
Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)
Courses at IDS
Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher status)
Degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
Online courses
Schools direct teaching courses
Masters funded by the research councils (e.g., ESRC 1+3 funding)

How to Apply
To be considered for the Chancellor's Masters Scholarship:
Receive and accept an offer of a place on an eligible Masters at Sussex.
Hold, or expect to achieve, a First Class UK or Irish Bachelors degree.
Provide a statement of academic interests including:
Your previous academic achievement and excellence
Your academic and career aspirations after completing your Masters
Any work or extra-curricular activity related to your Masters
Application Fee
No application fee is mentioned.
Bond
Priority will be given to those who have not already completed a postgraduate qualification.
Sussex 2024 graduates are not eligible for this scholarship, instead, they will automatically be eligible for either the Sussex Graduate Scholarship or Sussex Alumni Award, depending on the final degree classification.
As the Chancellor's Masters Scholarship is funded by the University of Sussex, it cannot be combined with other Sussex scholarships (e.g., Chancellor's International Scholarship).
