This scholarship has been generously funded by a bequest in the will of Kay Jones. Kay studied Philosophy at the University of Sussex between 1964 and 1968, where she participated in philosophical debates and ethical arguments and immersed herself in student life.
Kay went on to be called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1974 and had a successful career as a barrister and founding member of Field Court Chambers.
Kay supported Sussex students throughout her career, speaking at career development evenings on campus and offering work shadowing placements. It is our honour to continue her legacy of support with this scholarship in her name.
The Kay Jones Scholarship offers an excellent opportunity for UK national students to pursue their Master's degree in Philosophy or Social and Political Thought at the University of Sussex with financial support. This scholarship serves as a testament to Kay Jones' dedication to education and her legacy of supporting students in their academic and professional journeys.
